Pennsylvania Medicaid Preferred Drug List
The Pennsylvania Medicaid Preferred Drug List (PDL) is available here, make sure to click on the Pennsylvania PDL PDF. Please note, each Managed Care Organization (MCO) has its own formulary. If the recipient is in Managed Care they will have to check with their respective MCO if they have questions about coverage. This document replaces the previous, outdated PA Medicaid Asthma Formularies document that was found on our website.
PAP Workgroup Evaluation Final Report Now Available!

American Lung Association's New Report: The Burden of Asthma on Hispanics
The American Lung Association has released a new report, Luchando por el Aire: The Burden of Asthma on Hispanics, which provides an overview of the complex biological, environmental, political and cultural factors that increase asthma's burden on the Hispanic population in Pennsylvania and across the country. On April 4, 2011 the Pennsylvania Asthma Partnership held a successful Full Partnership Meeting. Two new guidance documents on spirometry produced by OSHA and CDC/NIOSH are now posted to the CDC/NIOSH website:

OSHA-NIOSH Info Sheet: Maximize Your Spirometry Screening and Surveillance Resources (directed toward employers and includes a checklist for employers)
Health Disparities Free Online Training
The collection of Health Disparities courses has been developed to assist the public health workforce in locating distance-accessible training programs. The trainings included in this collection are a subset of trainings developed by the National Network of Public Health Training Centers. All available trainings can be found on the Network's online training database at www.asph.org/phtc/search.cfm. The programs in the Health Disparities collection address how marginalized populations disproportionately experience negative health outcomes and have difficulites accessing care. Public health professionals will learn tools to address the unequal health outcomes. [PDF]
2011/2012 Flu Season is Upon Us!
PAP has worked with the Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition (PAIC) to develop a flyer which can be easily distributed to asthmatics throughout the state. Remember to encourage all patients, especially asthmatics, to receive this vital preventative medication. [PDF]
